Culture by Candlelight at Gallagher’s

 In News

At Gallagher’s we understand that eating good food is a multi sensory experience: while taste is of the most importance, your emotions, fueled by the environment, will usually have the last say in how much you are enjoying your dinner. That is why Gallagher’s offers diners such a  rich experience of good food, drink, music, conversation and visual appeal on a nightly basis.

But this November we are taking that experience one step further by including some local culture into your dining experience with the help of local historian and founder of the Limerick Historical Society, Tony Browne. On November 8th Tony will be joining us to talk about the rich history of the Shannon Estuary in Clare and Limerick, including the lives of local fishermen, the impact of trade in the area and some of the local characters and folklore that have influenced our local culture.

Tony will be joined by pianist Catherine Clohessy, who’s playlist will be influenced by local songs, and the set menu will be designed to complement the evening also.

The event will take place in the beautiful surroundings of Gallagher’s thatched cottage as the evening draws in, with plenty of candlelight and good company.

Tickets are €50 per person and include a three course meal with tea/coffee, two glasses of wine and a welcome glass of punch. For more information please contact John or Adrian on 061 363363 or email info@gallaghersofbunratty.com
